Alumina Plate

Cost-Effective Defense
Bringing Quality Protection within Reach

Description

Combining ceramic material with a flexible polyethylene backer, these armor plates provide the highest protection level available. All types of ceramic offer the same effectiveness, the only difference is the thickness, the weight, and the price. Alumina ceramic is the most budget-friendly choice.

Unique characteristics
  • High Hardness
Alumina ceramic is extremely hard and has a superior ability to withstand high impact forces. This property enables it to effectively disperse the energy of incoming projectiles, reducing the penetration power.
  • Excellent Durability
Alumina ceramic possesses exceptional durability and resistance to wear, corrosion, and high temperatures. This makes it well-suited for use in demanding environments. Nevertheless, be careful not to drop it as it may crack.
  • Cost-Effectiveness
Alumina ceramic plates are generally the most cost-effective choice compared to other high-end alternatives. This makes them a popular choice for body armor in various applications, including law enforcement and military use.
  • Thinner than PE Plates
It requires a lot more of polyethylene to become effective due to its lightness. Ceramic armor has an edge here. You can get a thinner, rifle-rated plate made from ceramic, while not increasing the weight too much.

Knowing the NIJ and Protection Level

The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is the research and standardization department for the U.S. Department of Justice. It is committed to scientifically studying, assessing and evaluating safety products. The ultimate aim of NIJ is to reduce crime and justice concerns. Nowadays, NIJ Standard is the most widely-used standard for bulletproof and stab proof vests all around the world.

NIJ standard 0101.06 is the standard of Bulletproof Performance of Personal Body Armor. This standard comes in NIJ Level II, IIIA, III, IV depending on the type of ammunition the bulletproof vest is designed to stop.

NIJ standard 0115.00 is the standard of Stab Resistance of Personal Body Armor. This standard comes in NIJ Level 1, 2 and 3 depending on how strong a force the stab proof vest is designed to stop.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I clean and store my armor?

1. Remove the functional panels from the carrier.

2. Use a soft-bristled brush or cloth to wipe the surface of the panel, avoid using cleaners that could damage the surface of the panel.

3. Dry clean, handwash or machine wash the carrier, avoid using any bleach.

4. Lay flat the carrier, air dry or humble dry it. We suggest that you prepare another carrier in case the cleaning causes delay.

5. Insert the panel back into the carrier.

How do I insert the ballistic plate?

1. Ensure that your vest/plate carrier has the necessary pockets or compartments designed to hold ballistic plates. Most of them have front and back pockets for this purpose, while some have side pockets, too.

2. Start by unfastening any straps or closures on the vest/carrier to access the pockets.

3. Take the ballistic plates and orient them correctly. Typically, the curved side of the plate, instead of the "STRIKE FACE" side, should face your body for better ergonomics and fit.

4. Slide the plates into the appropriate pockets. Make sure they are centered and aligned properly.

5. Once the plates are inserted, secure them in place by fastening any straps, Velcro closures, or buckles provided by the vest/carrier. Ensure that the plates are snugly held in position and do not shift around.

6. Adjust the straps to achieve a comfortable and secure fit. The vest/carrier should be snug but not overly tight, allowing for freedom of movement while maintaining proper protection.
